Rolling around Reading town on my skateboard I saw a sign for a coffee house. As I rolled in I saw a great range of coffee beans on show, all neatly arranged with hand written labels. Added to this was a cabinet of classic cakes and random snacks. I liked this place already!
My girlfriend and i went for a flat white and a cheeky sausage roll.. to share. Before you judge, this sausage roll was massive. It was homemade, not the sort you pick up from a garage. Real meat and flaky pastry, it tasted great!!!
The coffee house has a homely feel with lots of areas to sit and a welcoming atmosphere. There’s a high bar seating area to have a quick drink or a cosier lower level. We opted for the later and chose the coffee bags and low tables (plenty of space for the buggy…how times have changed!)
You don’t have to be a coffee nerd to enjoy this place. It’s got loads to offer and if you just want a break from the hustle and bustle of the town (and the chain coffee shops) this is a great place to stop.
As a self confessed coffee nerd myself and very much still learning, I had some beans to take away and try at home. With a great range on offer you just have to ask the friendly staff for thei opinion on which is the best coffee for your needs.
Workhouse is a real contender when it comes to coffee, give it ago for yourself.
